Quick chick question...I have 3 week old chicks right now under a heat lamp and I'm expecting some day old silkie chicks in the mail this week. My question is, will I be able to put the day old chicks with the 3 week olds? Then. 3 weeks from when those arrive, I'll be hatching some more so I should definitely keep those separated right? Thanks everyone!

I’ve put them together with that spacing (3w, 2w, fresh shipped) with no issues, but it would depend on personality. I would never have had success if they’d been with the Wyandottes

Expected ship date: February 28, so 2 weeks left to be impatient
Getting them from McMurray
My order has grown as birds that weren’t expected to be available did become available.
I am wanting a mix of chickens
1 Australorp
1 Ameraucana
1 Bielefelder
1 Blue Laced Red Wyandotte
1 Buff Orpington
1 Columbian Wyandotte
1 Dorking
1 Red star
1 speckled Sussex
6 Big Red Broilers

My brooder is ready and the coop is getting there. Thank God for family and friends that like saws and hammers.

How did I miss this post? Beautiful looking setup!

Please let me know how your Dorking is! That is on my list for next year, lol. We ordered a lot of the same breeds!

Will you house your broilers with your layers?
