I wish i could have a goose in town too. I can only have 5 chicks. There has been eagles and hawks flying closer. But my run is mostly covered.
I just got some silver laced wyandpttes and black stars. I wanted to replace the maran but they won't having any hatches until may.
Better late thsn never! 1 buttercup died, and 3 of our 4 Murray McMurray Bielefelders! It was a hard trip for them. But when I called the lady also asked if my losses were the Bielefelders, so maybe they are weak... Here's buttercup.

I had to rush home yesterday trying to pick the kids up from school, we had a hawk staking out the girls and little turds refused all my attempts to put them up. Our neighbour lost all but two of their chickens to the hawk and I’ve jumped their fence to check on them when they’re at work (heard the hens screaming). Hoping to finish covering the run after the snow stops ruining the netting

We had a Sicilian buttercup last year but she got sick and didn't make it. My daughter wants another one but the feed store near us won't have them this year and I am struggling to find anywhere that still has them. Another feed store not too far has them but doesn't do pre-orders and people get in line 2 hours before opening to get certain breeds (heard they were one) and the place I found about 40 min away will only have them for one day and it doesn't match up with when I want to get my other chicks. So thinking no Sicilian buttercup this year.
