I won't advise you either way. But my response would be to cull any so called special needs chicken or a chick that is "different" in a profound manner. A chick that refuses to grow let's say, goes against the basic nature of all life, not just the life of chickens.

You need to take all of them out of the incubator. They need fresh air and exercise. Plus they need to be at a more normal temperature.

Nope!! 21days today.. One of them looks fully grown, one looks a little smaller but getting there and the third is just not growing at all??

21 days old-looks full grown? What kind of chicks are they? The only chicks I know of that grow that fast are pharoah quail.

Hey guys.. I don't know how many times I've told this story on here but my incubator turned off the other day for about an hour! I had three possible chicks out of, I think seven. Although two of them seem to be fine and growing, one of them hasn't grown at all in about a week and it's seems very floppy and lifeless, I guess..

the veins around also seem loose?! I don't know if anyone else has ever experienced this.. I just want the other chicks to get as much heat as possible!! I need to know ASAP!!

You may have a quitter. I assume you have been candling. If it has definitely quit, the blood vessels will collapse and join together, and probably see one ring of blood floating. If you still see active, stringy looking veins, then it is probably still alive. I would leave it in. It may hatch a day or so after the others but could turn out fine. Good luck!

When I read this and your other posts I took it to mean chicks, but you're talking about developing eggs and not chicks that are already hatched.
Now I get it.

Ive got a hen that is sitting for the first time (our first time too). She started with 10 eggs and quickly got down to 5. Anyway.. i think i know why they are missing but i have her in the coop but in a dog kennel / cage so the other chickens will leave her alone. She hatched a chick yesterday and i checked on it last night - all was well. The chick was directly under her. This morning the chick is dead and seems to have a raw belly. Any ideas?

Since your original post seems to have gotten hijacked, I will try to answer your question. Sometimes when a hen is still sitting on eggs she sits a bit lower on them to keep them warmer, this happens alot at night as the hen relaxes and settles down onto the eggs. Unfortunatly, sometimes early chicks sometimes get squished,, especially under heavier hens,, and their bellies become raw looking from trying to squirm out from under her. An experienced hen would try to arrange the chick more to her outer edges while she still sat on the unhatched eggs,, but new mothers can be not so smart sometimes.
Another possibility could be that the mother just didn't want it,, It happens rarely,, and plain outright killed it.
