Baby chicks for our first time! Is that constant cheep a worry?

I probably will. I already sent an email to Ideal Poultry, asking if Ideal 236 have feathered legs, and if not, did they deliver any cochin or bantam cochins to this particular store this week.

I am hoping they are more organized than the feed store.
It is my professional experience that (my) feed store people are dummies.

My feed store labels and sells their birds as FEMALE.
I saw with my own eyes the boxes that were clearly labeled straight run.

Yeah, I worry about that, too. In theory they ordered pullets, and it should be 90% chance they're pullets. At least I'm fairly sure of Steggie the red sex-link.

So yeah, it's looking like Terri may be a cochin. Possibly a bantam cochin?

I can take her back. @Purple Rose wants to keep her, and have me bring another. Other birds they have that came in at the same age that could make ok egg producers are barred rock, black australorps, aaaand I've forgotten the third one. Thinking an australorp.

Get the Australorp.
They are wonderful layers.
I hate my Wyandotte...she is a mean brat.
