Baby chicks in Southern California?

Hey Dennis,
I'm interested in those Black and blue Ameracaunas. What color eggs do they lay? I didn't know there were those colors, sound beautiful. And do you know if they are females? I actually pretend I have chickens for my four kids but fresh eggs every morning cannot be beat! I have a blond Ameracauna that lays green eggs, and a dark brown that lays pinkish/beige eggs. Along w/ my BR and RIR. The four that I lost were also Ameracaunas, how much do you want for them? And do you have six? We live pretty close, let me know
Thanks Lisa

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate all the responses! I usually get mine from either Kruse Feed in La Habra or Yorba Linda Feed, everybody is out!

This may be of some interest to this forum.. I am an avid gardener; lately I have been reading lots of articles on chicken manure-that it is the best for the garden, keeps weeds down, no acid which does not kill plants, and helps plants to supergrow! But also that there has been a huge phenomenon of backyard chicken folks! People are not just loving the fresh eggs but the soil additives is an added perk! So my chickens are multipurpose, pets of course, great eggs, and I have several heirloom vegetable plants that have made it through a full year without dying out-I have to attribute that to my chickadoodles!

I wonder if that's why noone has baby chicks?! I bet it is, any thoughts?

Hello Lisa
The eggs are a blue/green and I don't know what sex they are yet but as soon as I do I let you know how many females I have to spare. And their free if you give them a good home. We live real close, I buy a lot of my feed from Kruse and My brother lives in brea by Birch st and I'm by his house every few days and can meet you so it's not to far for you to drive. I got the eggs from someone on the group and she has pictures of them and they are beautiful I got one splash out of the hatch but I'm going to keep thet one and one of the blues. Enjoy Dennis
