Hi!

This is a kind of silly question, but I'm worried about my baby chicks. They're our first ones and we're very excited.

They are coming in tomorrow at the farm store, and I had planned to be home all day so I could go pick them up as soon as I got the call. But now I need to work for a couple hours. I'm not sure what time they're coming, so I don't know if I'll be here or not.

What will happen to them if they have to wait at the store for a couple hours? Will they keep them warm?
I'm sure every store is different, I just mean in general, what do most stores do?

I know my store sells chicks so they would probably keep them warm in a brooder but I'm not sure.

To be honest I would call and ask someone. Just let them know that the chicks will be there for a few hours is there a way they can keep them warm for you or, at the very least keep them indoors and out of a draft.

Thank you, you're right, I should just call. I'm worried they'll think I'm silly for worrying about my chicks so much. My husband thinks I worry too much. But I'd rather know they're ok, then have them be cold waiting for me.

It's OK - I get myself in dilemmas exactly like that where I think people will think I'm nuts and, well, I know my husband already thinks I'm nuts LOL so...oh well LOL!

I'd call too - my feed store had a '2 days to pick up' policy, so they had brooders all set up for all the chicks. good luck! I got mine last Friday - so much fun!
