Wow that sure looks like a cut line, I’ve never heard of de-beaking a chicken.

Is the baby eating and drinking ok? This would be my first concern, can the baby still peck and eat, and get water into its mouth and hold it long enough to get her little head back to swallow.

Why would a hatchery de-beak a chick?

I’m going to show some lack of intelligence is that really a thing to debeak a chick?

It is something that is sometimes done on high production birds slated to be used in commercial egg production facilities in the misguided thought that it will cut down on feather pecking/plucking.
