When my duck hatched out on sat it had a normal eye now all of a sudden it looks like this. It is only 3 days old. Does anyone know what this is and how to treat it? It is alone so no one picked on it.

I have been putting neosporin on it and it maybe looks a tad bit better.

huh, that is odd. If it was a chick I'd say it could be MG as often chickens will show a film/growth the same color. Good luck with this problem, I would try a strong tea, but the neosporin wouldn't allow it to clean the area.

It kind of looks like dried hard green stuff. kind of like boogers I am afraid to touch it though i don't want to damage anything.

Try using terramycin eye ointment. I have a hen who got pecked in the eye and it caused an infection, I used this ointment on her eye everyday for a week and it cleared up, however she has permanent damage to that eye from the peck

I just want it to be seminormal so when I stick it in with my chicks and other duck they won't pick at it.

It sounds like it might be some sort of mucus. Try cleaning the boogery like stuff away from the eye. The neosporin might not help since it is meant for healing wounds and preventing scars. Try cleaning the eye and see what happens! Keep us posted

It is more like a layer of mucus under a layer of "skin." It will not rinse off or come off with gentle prodding.
