If you dab her eye with saline it will open, and then you can put a small dab inside the eye by gently pulling down on the bottom eye lid. Keep her head scab covered with neosporin twice a day. Instead of strawberries, I would offer wet fresh made chicken feed and water. Then add some scrambled egg bits. She may be the lowest in pecking order, and getting picked on.

Ive been feeding her eggs grit and her pellets. Today I gave her strawberries because she wouldn't eat her egg mixture. She needs protein but just giving to see if she was wanting to eat at all. She munches on mealy worms. Hubby went to get yogurt. Is it OK if I put neosporin over her eyelid?

I don't know about Neosporin in the eye. Terramycin eye ointment can be purchased at TSC or your local feed store should have it.
For additional protein, you can try offering her some tuna or some boiled chicken; some people think it's wrong to feed chicken to chickens, so sorry if you're offended by the suggestion.

Crap. Im using neosporin pain relief. Cleaning off immediately. Her eye is sealed shut but will just use warm water as best I can. Im trying not to mess with her too much and let her relax and recoup. Im Cleaning her bedding and scalp 3xs day. I can't believe im trying to help her and im giving her toxic neosporin....

Don't beat yourself up. You caught and won't use it anymore. Try to get as much off as possible. Use a mild soap like Dawn. That's the only soap we use in the house anymore.

This might be better than applying pressure directly with a dish rag, etc. and rubbing it. Or use your finger so you can feel how much pressure you're applying.

Im using Qtip soaked in warm water to try and remove as much as possible. When I first brought her in I used Vetericyn plus and covered her injured eye. I started Neosporin 2nights ago I think but have been diligent to reapply. Its so tender right now just dont want to stress her further. Hubby ran to get plain Neosporin for me. Its been 3days since the attack occurred. Day b4 yesterday she appeared to rally. Stood up walking around. Yesterday just barely moving and didn't stand. Today same thing. She stands and sinks right back down and sleeps. She is eating and drinking but its not alot. This is really stressful and gut wrenching trying to get her back to her normal self. Right now the old Dorothy seems far away. Thank you for your insight

If the wound has had a good initial cleaning, then I would not clean it anymore, just apply Original Neosporin on the wound at least once a day to keep the wound pliable and moist.

For the eye, apply a warm compress soaked in saline, work the eye open, put a few drops of saline in the eye to help rinse it out, then put a dot of Original Neosporin or Terramycin eye ointment IN the eye.

I realize you want to let her relax, but the eye and any wounds need to be treated so the healing process can begin.

She needs to be encouraged to get up/stand up, even if only for a minute, if possible. Encourage her to drink on her own, dip the beak in some sugar water to see if she will drink in a few drops. Offer wet mushy feed.

@PVILLAGO - how is she today? Any luck getting her to drink sugar water as Wyorp Rock suggested? She's been through a lot of stress lately. You can try to offer scrambled egg in her wet mushy feed with Poultry Cell or Rooster Booster (TSC) if you have some for some additional vitamins. After administering to her wounds and working on her eye, you can rest her in a dog crate, keeping her warm and dry for observation with food and water in reach.
