you couldn't squish a slug that size. it would be traumatising.
As a child my mother tasked me with helping in the garden. Specifically slug destruction.
I may have PTSD from the experience.
The two most effective methods are not for the squeamish: scissors or salt.
I would be sent out after dark armed with the scissors and the salt cellar and was allowed to decide which to deploy.
A less traumatizing but also somewhat leas effective method of destruction are beer traps. They need refilling from time to time.
I am not sure modern parenting standards would approve of an 11 year old out on her own after dark with scissors, salt, and a can of Guinness!

i'd say in ireland, it'd be perfectly acceptable! 😂
i have cut smaller ones with scissors before and the beer traps don't really work for me. besides. what a waste of beer!
the thickness of this guy... you just have to turn around and pretend like you never saw him.
maybe loppers?
