ok, dd is 7 weeks old. she loves her swing. it plays music, and you can adjust how fast it moves. my question is, would you leave her asleep in it?
she eats and i can put her in it and after a little bit she drifts off...should i let her nap in it, or not? i kinda feel bad about it for some reason, but she really does like it.

As long as the seat is kinda reclined so she's comfy, go for it. I let all of mine sleep in the reclining vibrating chairs and they were fine. My last one was the only one who likes to swing and we had one of those Fisher Price travel swings, she slept in it too.

My DS spent so many hours in his swing it was not even funny. He loved it. If he feel asleep, I just left him and layed on the couch next to him and took a nap too. I hated when he outgrew it. As long as its comfy and you dont leave her in it while shes crying and screaming bloody murder, it fine. If shes happy, moms happy!

Oh I loved those swings for my kids,if they were tiny, I did put rolled blankets on the sides to make sure their heads stayed in a good position. But otherwise, I let them have their little "nap" if they fell asleep in it.

Swings are awesome. They don't call them "neglect-o-matics" for nothing! My first DS loved being in his swing under a tree while I worked in the garden. The second DS seemed like he came out too big for the swing....so no luck there.

I see nothing wrong with it at all. If she's napping and comfortable, what does her location matter?

i think that is what i was feeling bad about. i don't want to neglect her, but she still doesn't focus really well yet, so there's not a lot to do to keep her
stimulated.

I love swings! Your not neglecting her. If she's happy and sleeping then she doesn't feel left out. In fact, one of the reasons swings work so well is that it reminds the baby of being in the womb. Ever read or experianced how if your awake and up and walking while pregnant the baby sleeps, but at soon as you lay down baby goes in to hyper mode kicking and turning? While your up and walking the baby gets a rocking motion. It rocks them to sleep. Kindla like how you can turn a radio station thats static on a low volume and that will put a baby to sleep. It reminds them of the wooshing sound of mommy's heart beat. If's she's happy no harm done. You can't hold them 24/7, you need to pee and shower at some point. LOL! If she's screaming her head off I wouldn't leave her in there though.

my 1st dd spent much of hewr first 3mos in hers. you just put her in and out she went. unfortunaly i cant say the same about my others. dont feel bad, think of it this way, moving her might wake her and how would YOU feel if you were all cozy sleeping good and someone said, hey move it, ou cant sleep here? i know dh hates it when i make him get off the couch, lol. she ll be fine, just make sure shes strapped in properly.

Both my kids LOVED the swing. They slept in it all the time for naps. Just not for bedtime. I had to hide the swing when they were about 9 months old because they were way too big for it. That was hard. They would cry because they couldn't swing.
