Baby monitor in the chickens barn

Hi, so I put an old baby monitor in my chickens barn and it works great even from my bedroom a little over 100' away I can hear every little sound. Ive had bad problems with predators this year so i thought this would be a good idea but I really am surprised at how well it works and just how much peace of mind it gives me. I always go to sleep knowing I could wake up to a nightmare out there but with this baby monitor its me thats sleeping like a baby!

I use a two camera baby monitor system with audio and visual monitoring. I love it! The coop used to be a garage., so it's 17 X 20 feet, with two huge ladder roosts on different walls.

The system has given ME peace of mind at night, too!

When I first got my chickens I put a baby monitor in the coop as well. Loved listening to them! I got a lot of head shakes and raised eyebrows from family members, oh well. I had to move the monitor back into the house for the babies though.

O, nice a camera, that would be awesome! I would love to have a camera, also a button so I could talk to them would be nice, that way I dont have to go outside to tell them to shutup

It works in pitch dark, too, with Infrared technology. And, should I want to, I can snap a photo of what I see ( but you have to have a memory card in the monitor).

I would love it just to listen to the sweet cooing they do at night. I have sat at dusk in the work room part of coop and listen, it is too cute. Do they make noise like that all night or just when they know I (not just me, but anyone) am there?

If a tree falls in the forest . . . But really, those of you with monitors, do they become completely silent?

We have no electric out there now, so this would be a future project if I get to do it.

Mine make a little noise now and then but for the most part there pretty quiet. Im sure it depends on how many you have and maybe the breed.
