I dk, can't see it very well. I would not worm him at this age i think, just watch.*gross image
Is this a worm or a thread? The fleece doesn't have many loose threads... If it is a worm what should I do? Sorry I keep asking questions lol I'm just trying to make sure I don't do any thing wrong
I wish I knew something about mourning doves. Green poo doesn't sound real good. May indicate he's not getting enough to eat... are you seeing his crop fill? You are doing what you can for him, I'll keep fingers crossed he makes it.Now his poo is green, do you know what does that mean?
If he is growing that is very good! I will be cheering you on!he normally eats 1 1/2-2 1/2 ml every 2-3 hours . The picture is him after eating about 2 1/2 ml. He also pooped while I was feeding him. It was green and white again though. Could the green be because sometimes when I feed him his food gets cold before I check it again ? I heard they don't digest it as well when it's cold. I warm it by putting it in a little container then setting the little container in a mug of hot water for a bit then test it on my wrist (no water gets in the container) I also check it throughout feeding to make sure it doesn't get cold, but sometimes it is and I've already gave him some. He's come this far and sure is growing! His pin feathers on his wings are starting to grow. I'll definitely research more online. You all have been so much help and I don't think I could have made it this far without all your advice
Thanks!
I was feeding him today and decided the syringe was just not gonna work anymore, so I tried it with the glove and it worked like a charm!! As soon as he saw it he slurped it all up!
one thing, at what age will I be able to tell if little chicky is a male or female?
Wonderful news! Try to get him eating a bit more I think - hard for me to know tho since they are much smaller than pigeons. Have you weighed him, like on a food scale? You have definitely got most of it right since he is still going strong. I've no clue how to tell gender in mourning doves... a good question to ask 'the google'![]()
