Baby Parakeets: Advice Needed

The babies are almost out from what I can see. They should be out in a week. if the nest is really dirty than yes you should clean it out but if it's fairly clean you can just wait to they are out and then clean it or put a new box. You can add more shavings. It's great that yours accepts it because mines actually don't. Don't worry they won't abandon the nest Because of no shavings, for my parakeets have never abandoned it and they have nothing because evertything I put they take out. I've never changed the box to my parakeets so I don't know she'll react. I think the best thing would be to just wait for the chicks to leave the nest because we don't want the mom or dad to leave the nest when the chicks are so big because they didn't recognize it. Every chick has a unique personality and are full of curiosity which might explain why they came out a little earlier. I hope I was of help again.

Thank you. Alright then, I'll just add more shavings. The only one who takes shavings out is Ferguson, my male parakeet, but he does it just for fun and not very often anyways.

That's good. I'm glad I was of some help and I wish you luck with your parakeets.
Thank you. Yes, you have been very helpful. It's nice to have advice from someone who is more experienced.

Baby parakeet decided to watch the big birds yesterday. He'll be out soon! I can't wait! As you can see, the nestbox is kind of small. Next time I need to be more prepared. That cardboard with seed on it is for him just in case he wants to come out. He reaches out to try to eat the food there sometimes.

Right, my favorite characteristics of the parakeet is their curiosity and playfulness. They are such amazing birds!

They really are! He is really big. Wait to they get out and they become very curious about their surroundings. For my parakeets I got wood and made nestboxes, though I like the idea of the cardboard.
