Baby pea chick rearing!

Hi. I'm new to this!
Our peahen had abandoned a chick and we found it near deaths door. From what we can work out it was late to hatch compared to the others

and just been left.
I have taken him/her in and been hand rearing it. We are feeding it game bird starter crumb, a few worms and some hard boiled egg. It's come on leaps and bounds in 24hours.

I noticed tonight it's frantically pecking it's feathers and me (it seems like it's trying to clean itself but it's pulling slightly on his/her feathers, it then continuous to pecking around where it is then stops for a few seconds then starts again. It's eyes are closed the entire time) it's hard to explain but does anyone know why this has suddenly started?
