baby roo feathers

Do baby roosters start out with pointy hackle feathers? I have a new 6-7 wk old EE roo but the only thing that is roo-ish about him is his comb. Can't do pics right now, sorry. The feathers on his saddle area and his hackle area are rounded.

You start to notice roo feathers around 6-7 months

My welsummer cockeral is just starting to get his iridescent blue tail feathers. He is 7 weeks old. No pointy hackle feathers yet though.
