I've had to rehome a few roo's. I've put them on Craigslist with specific instructions that they go to good homes not dinner tables. In a few cases I've delivered the birds myself and checked out where they will be going. I've asked why they wanted the birds and under what circumstances would they kill or rehome them. Once I was satisfied I let them have the roo. If someone gets defensive or angry...then you know what their true intenstions are. A real chicken lover would understand and give tons of info.

Well you can always just ask potential re-home families what they plan on doing with him. If they say dinner, you can just tell them that's not the future you're looking for for him.
