Baby Roo on the Move

Hey all,

I have to drive my little 5 week old rooster to his new home, 3 hours away. I’ve got a box prepared with a screen top, and it will have a dog pad and wood shavings in it. How should I do food and water? Can I just make a dish of wet chick food, like a mash, to prevent spills?

For three hours you don't really need to feed or water him. He should be fine. As long as it doesn't make a mess in your vehicle the wet mash won't hurt anything. He might eat some.

If you wish, you could stop halfway and see if he will drink water. But I'd empty the water before you restarted the trip. I'm sure you know how messy that could get.
