Baby died last night, It appears the mother could not keep the baby warm, for it was so small and seems to have gotten lost in the bedding. And was not warm enough. From now on, IF I have anymore, Seramas will be hand raised, no broodys. Poor momma, I so wanted her to experience motherhood. I gave her an egg and she seems to have quieted down for now. Maybe I will try and pass off some 3 week old leghorns as hers tonight, but I doubt she will go for it. I do have some more Serama eggs and if one is a larger one I might let her have that one.
I went to the pen this morning and a 4 month old RIR was left out overnight and was dead.
I cant let them free range because of neighbor and I was afraid to go out to coop till after dark to close the door, because I didnt want him staring at me and calling who knows who. They are so sad, stuck in the run.
Three got out when I openned the door to the run and I had a heck of a time chasing them back in. They are just not like this. They are always so good. But, they love their yard time. Its so sad. I am looking for homes for them now
Even though I told the guy I was moving within the next few months, I just cant take it anymore. I cant be assured that I will move in a few months when I havent found a place yet.
