This is my second batch of baby chicks...altho these are my first Silkies Ive ever had. They are about 3wks old. In good health, very active, no issues as yet. However only one of them has a large lump on her chest. I kinda freaked out thinking maybe its some sort of tumor....second batch of chicks and Ive never seen ones crop bulge out like this. It feels very tight/swollen as tho she may burst at any moment! She just seems top heavy... I read some other forums about crops just being full from eating? But I thought it odd only one chick out of 8 has this. Its been atleast a week now and it seems to be getting bigger.... Please help! It doesnt look normal to me. But shes active and eating... what could this be??

What have you been feeding them? Anything other than chick food? Have they got access to food 24/7? If so, remove her from the food for a few hours and see if her crop goes down. It could be she's just been overeating, or she may possibly have an impacted crop from eating something she shouldn't or couldn't digest.

The only thing she has had access to eating is the chick starter crumbles... her crop has been extremely large for nearly two wks now. Shes unable to walk...keeps legs spread apart just to hold her balance. She has only recently become immobile the past few days.... the lump seems like its not longer in the middle of the chest but has moved more to one side. Now she has issues tucking her wing due to the bulge. Im at a loss really.... ive read about giving her olive oil and tryin to massage till she vomits? Shes just so small and fragile i feel like im going to hurt her or push to hard?
