Babysitting Prices?

My neighbour keeps kids - she charges $25 a day for those not in school. Those in school are $15 a day.

Yeah, but flipping burgers or working as a secretary would mean I have to put my kid in daycare and probably school. I am doing this to help out so I can continue to homeschool and have a bit extra money to help pay the bills.

Geeze, that is a lot to pay with no multiple kid discount.

The insurance thing worried me. I wonder how hard it would be to open a small daycare? I would NOT want to hire employees. I'd be afraid I'd get a crazy person, lol.

It actually never occurred to me to become a licensed care provider. Is anyone doing this professionally? Got any tips? lol

I need to work from home to keep up with what my family needs, hmmm.

Ya know, I was looking at it like, if I get a few kids at 10.00 each a day, then that would be a pretty decent paycheck at the end of the week. I've done the multiple kid thing and it never seemed much harder than watching one or two.

Why must I think? This is not good.

I'd rather clean houses

Kids are the hardest work around. I would rather watch older ones if any at all. I could never do it in my house though.. Way too many animals...

I LOVE cleaning houses and businesses. I grew up helping my mom do that and its just great work. I always wanted to start my own house cleaning service. I cannot do that and keep Boo with me though.

A friend of ours pays $20 a day to their baby sitter and she send his food (has to be gluten free). I watch their son every one in awhile, and they give me $20 as well. She wanted to give me more since I was really helping them out in a tight jam. But I told them $20 was fine and that was from 5:30 am until 2:30 pm. Needless to say we watched a lot of Thomas the Tank until I was awake and ready to go. By that time he was ready for a nap.
