Merry Christmas everyone.
So A young Muscovy pair showed up on Perfinder this morning. I have 4 drakes, 2 runner and 2 pekin, who get along in winter and are seperated in the summer.

If I got this pair and housed them seperately would this work? Or would it just be fighting year round. Its peaceful here in winter.

They want to keep them together if possible, but I'm thinking I'll volunteer to take the Drake if they find someone to take the female, and they won't take him.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hormones in Muscovy drakes is very low from late fall till early spring so getting the pair should be fine. You'd def have to keep the females away from your drakes through winter though since it seems other domestic drakes are still hormonal all through the year. This is for northern states if we lived in the south our Muscovy's would be breeding brooding and hatching all year long.
