Ok back again. Actually this is a mystery pullet from TSC. I am not sure what she will grow into...a lovely chicken I hope
I will accept her for whatever she becomes. She has scrawny yellow bird legs. All of these yellow pullets I got from TSC seem to be very docile chicks compared to the RIRs I got a few days later. Funny thing is the RIRs are outgrowing them fast. That is why I was curious that it may be a bantam as I really have no idea. It may just be that RIRs grow faster I just really dont know.
LoL as far as the bird poopin on my rifle I just gotta say that this is a combat type rifle. I dont sweatt the small stuff. It'll wash off
Just imagine how much poop we all had on us as lil babies
The rifle has a good parkerized finish on the steel parts and anodizing on the aluminum parts. Chick poo is the least of my worries on the rifle
I do keep it clean--it does get dusty but it always works when I need it to.
Specs on the rifle for those who would like to know. I built it up specially the way I wanted and it isn't done yet as I have a few more changes to do on it. I began with a DPMS lower receiver. Then I added a Rock River Arms 6 position collapsable stock. I then ordered a flat top upper with T-numbered upper receiver from CMMG. The upper sports a 16 inch M-4 profile barrel with M-4 feed ramps. Chrome lined chamber and barrel. The barrel has a 1 in 7 twist for better accuracy with 62 gn and heavier bullets. CMMG got the barrel special order from DPMS as that is what is marked on the bottom of the barrel. Standard A2 flash suppressor. We arent allowed to have short barreled rifles here in Bama so that explains why I didn't get the standard 14.5 inch barrel. I wanted the ability to have access to my threads on the barrel. Just means my muzzle device can be removed at my discretion--it isnt welded on. I removed the factory M-4 forward handguards and insalled a set of surefire m-79(I think anyway) 4 rail handguards. I have a few different attachments I can add to it. See below. And last but not least my rear site is a YHM folding backup iron site should I decide to pop on an optic it folds down neatly out of the way. But like I said I have a few more things I would like to do to it before I consider it finished but its lightweight and shoots great. Oh and yes I do own a Bushmaster as well. Great rifle. I have big plans for it as well but for now I am concentrating on gettin a small flock of lovely chickens up and going. Kinda reminds me of when I was a kid as we always had chickens and stuff.
Picture of the rifle with an attachment hooked on by some homebuilt mounts...best I could do. Don't freak though that attachment is completely legal...I dont do illegal stuff nor do I own anything illegal.
Okay, to keep with the purpose of the board I am gonna try and get a better pic of that chick so you guys can get a better look at her and maybe somone will know what she is... pic shortly
I'm pretty sure that's a Buff Orpington, at least it looks just like my Buff Orp did at that age. I love the rifle pic! I never would have thought of doing that and it's hilarious! Maybe next time ...
Sorry bout the delay. I have been busy building a new chickenyard for my chicks. They are growing up fast. And.... I just got 6 more today from TSC. I don't know what they are for sure but I beleive they might just be Barred Rocks. I got them cause I thaught they were cute
and the fact they was one sale helped a lot as well. I couldn't help myself. As the other chicks are approaching a month old and quite a bit bigger these lil guys gonna be in this box at least a week. Then hopefully at the end of the week I will have the chickenyard built for my other guys so my new lil guys can go in the outside brooder. If not they may be big enough by then to go in with the other guys. We will see what happens. But you know this reply would be useless without pics so here are the new guys
Oh yea... to add info on the original picture... the little yellow chicks are starting to grow fast now... I am sure they are NOT bantams as I had originally thought.
I may post newer pics of them later if anyone would like to see.
The original chicks you posted look exactly like the three I got today at my nearest TSC. The label on the bin said "Sex Links" exactly like that in quotes nothing more. The woman working there didn't seem to know too much, although she did say she had chicks at home.
The three other bins they had were all RIRs. Which I have on order elsewhere.
I knew I just wanted something different so I took three home, along with some mallards.
yea I believe they may be gold sex links. As they get older they are starting to darken up a bit, possibly red sex links too. They seem to be much more docile than my RIR chicks that are close to the same age. I still like them anyway. I like them all even the new chicks I got today. Guess maybe I just like chickens in general. Had them growing up as a kid. Seems like they kinda fill an empty spot or something. I dont nkow, just seems right to have them around. Kinda depressed and drinkin right now so disregard this post I will delete it later I am sure. Later, peace out.
