back part of roo comb turning dark/what is it/PLEASE help

I was just looking for info to confirm my theory. We were out with our Seramas for almost 4 hours yesterday...just relaxing and watching them while they foraged, and played, and "you -know-what". We noticed our 1+ year old Roo had been getting that purplish-black at the tips a few days ago. When we watched him yesterday, it seemed that when it got that way, he would then proceed to "make whoopee". About 10 minutes after the quick whoopie, the comb would go completely back to BRIGHT RED.
Could it be that the blood is rushing to his "you-know-what"? Sounds legitimate, right?

I also have a roo whose comb turns bluish at times. I have had him for several months and it usually happens in the evenings. It appears to be just something he does. He never acts sick or vicious and is really good with the girls. His comb just turns colors. I guess some roos just do that.
