In the Brooder
Hello!
I joined BYC last year bc I was SURE I'd finally get the coop built I'd been planning since we were lucky enough to move to my grandparents farm in 2013...well, i still don't have the coop COMPLETELY built, but we did get our chicks!
I built a simple brooder box and started with 4 white leghorn hens and 2 production red hens (because that's what they had left for sexed clicks at Tractor Supply This past Saturday).
I cannot believe how fast they are growing-- and how much they are eating!
My son checked on the girls before school this morning and came running, "Mommy! They're so tall!" I thought he was exaggerating, but I think they're an inch taller in the 5 days we've had them! Overnight they've "sprouted" legs! Wow!
