Saying it an proving it are too completely different thing.

The other party seems to see it as a set date.

The deposit being paid proves that there was a verbal contract at the least. Trying to get a judge to believe that there were not any set dates involved in that verbal contract (true of not) will be a hard sell.

As for the this thread.... The links to there website an the constant talk about things related to there business will have this thread showing up on web searches about there website/Business. Do you think someone researching a company they were going to use would see this thread favorably.

Actually if I had the money I would buy from her. I think this guy is a bozo.

We have a well established customer base, and lots of backing from the green business community. Our customers are also educated and eco-conscious. I'm not going to worry about one crazy guy ruining our name. Our pictures and references speak for themselves.

I agree with Deb! Absolutely beautiful!

I need a new program for the site. Haven't been able to add anything for months because I only have those few pages. Coming soon though!

All joking aside.

No name calling.

Give the guy his money back, life is way to short to be stuck dealing with that kind of problem.

Right or wrong, be done with it, put it behind you.

For what it's worth, I think a deposit is just that, a security, insurance, to make sure that the seller doesn't invest time and resourses with out reward.

Not only would I keep 100% of the deposit, if he tried suing I would counter sue for the balance. Yes you could back down and let this bully get his way but sometimes you just have to stand up to these type of people and put them in thier place.

Well- if it comes down to it- we have 15 years of customers, other artists, and awards that will back us up.

It takes time to make stuff to specs- especially when you want the wood to have all live/raw edges. We have to find all the pieces that will fit together at the exact size- without cutting the sides. We knew he was picky from the beginning, so we made sure every piece was spot on. Now that stuff is all cut and screwed together with special order hardware. I had to buy the finish oil & special hinges & have it shipped.

If he would have let us know sooner, we could have put our time & money into other customer's pieces.

AND- he came to me! We don't advertise, I never solicited him, never tried to sell anything. We talked for 2 weeks non-stop before I even sent the deposit invoice.
