Backwards Leg? Help!!

Hi fellow BYC members. I have an emergency.

My friend has a chicken who's leg has almost completely spun facing backwards. The hen is 5 months old and the leg just recently started to move back and spin. To my friends knowledge the chicken has ever been given any medications or steroids in its lifetime. Before the leg started moving the hen would run around and jump like normal.

I need to know whats wrong with this Hen.

It could possibly be Mareks disease, but looks like a possible leg bone deformity, perhaps a twisted tibia. Leg bone deformities can worsen with age and growing, and can occur with one or both legs. Sometimes the hock tendon can rupture and cause lameness. Here is some reading:
