Backyard Brahmas!!

Big Medicine you have gorgeous birds!! Your hard work really shows!! I will never be up to your degree of involvement but oh my so pretty. I hope to get to National this year and make contact for Blues of three LF breeds. I really like blue, truck, Harley why not chickens too??

Go back and reread post 2085 on page 209. I tried to explain how this can happen.

Not much advantage trying to use him in a partridge breeding program.

Now if he were to grow into a decent specimen, and you were to put him over some buff Brahma hens, you would get half standard buff Columbian, and half blue buff Columbians. That would be your call

Thanks. What breeds are you thinking about ?

If I have four gold partridge brahma hens and a gold partridge rooster and I add one lemon pyle, one buff, one dark, one light, one red pyle and one blue partridge, will the chicks come out as either buff, or dark etc, or as a mixture of all the colours? I'm just worried I won't be able to sell them if they're an unknown mixture of colours.

i have 3 new chicks with my maran broodie. I sourced fertile eggs for her to sit on. The maran was sitting on lemon pyle brahma, and another type but cant remember whivh. I know (i think) 2 are lemon pyle brahma but the larger whiter, with dark wings is i think possibley a boy or a different brahma. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what those are but I am curious. I took my cousin's daughter to an auction 2 wks ago looking for silkies for her. She won a box of assorted "feather footed chicks" Six I can identify as silkies and/or cochins. The last has me stumped though. It's easily twice the size of the bantam chicks so I know it's a large fowl. Feather feet and a pea comb. Feathering in pure white. I'd swear it's a brahma chick except for the color. And they're supposed to be no mixes in this assortment.

I will have to get a pic of the chick in question. But so far it's looking like yours.
