@big medicine How did you get the black heads on your laced? I really like that look...........

I suspect the dark necks are a result of their Cornish ancestry, and my giving it preference when selecting my breeders. It was when I started the blue laced red project a few years back that it really caught my eye. Before that I had a few gold laced that had dark necks that I had kept mainly because they were of superior type. Once I saw the dark neck feature in blue I thought it really popped, and started breeding for it. One of the perks of starting your own variety I guess.

As to your other question, dark Brahmas would be silver based, Partridge or gold partridge, would both be gold based, having a copy, or two, of blue would not change that.

Any roosters will fight, just depends on the situation. I've had luck with young ones raised together, as well as a young raised with an existing "alpha" rooster.

As for introducing two mature cocks, I'm not sure that would ever work dependably.

Hello. Moving here from the Brahma thread after I learned that my birds did not qualify as brahmas because their legs are the wrong color and a couple have straighter combs than is "necessary". I feel like I'm in limbo because they say they aren't brahmas and the breeder says they're crazy. I don't care, they're beautiful birds and that's all that matters to me.
Wow what beautiful pictures!

Howdy. I'm new to Brahmas, but fell in love with them when my husband brought 8 home as an early Easter gift this year. I've been pining for chickens.

The pic below is of my little flock examining the first toad they'd ever seen. I have no clue about any show requirements, mine were Tractor Supply chicks, lol!

Bonus pic of my son wearing a Brahma hat.
