We get ours from a local butcher who smokes the stuff himself.... hands down it is the BEST darn bacon you will ever have!! THICK slices, and smells delish!
It sounds like you are using the super thin slices of bacon and the pan is way too hot; when cooking bacon it should NOT burn. Slow and steady cooking does the trick.... along with a cast iron pan of course!
