I personally don't think the cold has the effect on eggs as bad as people think.
With so many of us hatching eggs out of the fridge I would rather risk my eggs traveling through a snow storm inside of a truck, with packages all around to keep the actual freeze out. When they are cold the white and everything is actually less viscus and stable. Eggs do not do well in the heat, I personally have more fear of a heat wave, with no way to cool the eggs as they go down the road in the metal truck absorbing the suns heat and melting everything inside.
As for getting shipped eggs, if you get a batch and they start to develop and then stop especially after day 18 I would have to question the person hatching. If I got eggs and they even developed in the least and then stopped I am ok with that. We know the risk.
I personally have an issue when you order eggs, and not even one single egg develops one single vain. If I was to get even a single blood ring I know the eggs had the chance of being fertilized. What really puts my underwear in a knot is when the eggs come, and you do not have any development. Zilch.. If you do not even get a vain or blood ring I then question fertility. Is that unreasonable? Would anyone else question that?
