When you're calibrating, within 20% of target is much better than 90%

Same procedure just different salt. Do not be surprised if the different set points come out with different offsets.

Most people dont have magnesium chloride laying around.

It is more common than you might think. Ice melt is often MgCl2. Just make sure that the one you find is not a mix.

One more thing to be aware of with hygrometers is that most of them will not read down to 0% humidity. Many of the inexpensive hygrometers have a low point of 20% humidity. If you are in a dry climate, it is possible to drive the humidity in an incubator down to 0%. If the lowest your hygrometer will read to is 20%, you need to be aware that the actual humidity may be much lower.

Good to know!

Here in Western Oregon gills are needed most of the year. Few times we drop into less than 20% humidity in summer. Fire weather warnings galore at that point though.

It has been so dry in Arizona all the desert plants and animals are dying because there isn't enough water. I really hope we get a big storm soon if not I dont know if the plants will make it. If a fire starts it will spread so fast.

It's your incubator heating then turning off when it gets to temp.... Then heating again. Appears to be working fine.
