Thank you. One is seemingly doing quite well (yelling at me right now), but the other is fading. I have it separated (in the incubator) and the more active one under a heat lamp. Both of them seem to have leg issues so the active one is in a little "chair" and I've lightly taped his feet. I got the ideahere. The one doing not so well seems to have a yolk herniait's beige with a bit of dark red umbilical all the size of a macadamia nut. I squirted a bit of antibacterial wash onto it and gave the little guy/girl a few paintbrush tipfulls of antibiotics. It's no longer peeping which is making me doubtful and rather depressed. I'm not convinced it will make it through the night which upsets me since its lasted so long. I read somewhere that with chicks the hernia should be pushed in and taped, but that seems extreme.
The other one is incredibly strong for being through all this and coming out premature. Its figured out how to hop and scoot its "chair" forward with its bodyweight and bites at everything.
I hadn't read or heard that pekins were bad mother ducks, so I'm now learning the hard way.
Ironically, I'm going to the vet tomorrow for our dog's chemo appointment, but they don't deal with birds.
It's going to be another long night.
