Bad news...

I worked at Bed Bath and Beyond before I was married and it was a good company to work for. You get discounts (and extra discounts during the holidays, so that's where I bought all my gifts!) and they pay better than a lot of places. You should check them out!
I've heard that Starbucks is another good place to work. They offer benefits to their part time employees and they also do a 401(k).

Well, I recently got my real estate license here in Georgia. The market hasn't been hit as bad as other areas, if fact prices have pretty much stayed the same. However, it's takes MONTHS to get paid; i.e. when I sell a house. Good thing DH has a day job!

Anyone looking for a hobby farm, horse farm or home in Georgia??

Trisha hunny, I wish you the best of luck!!! I have been searching for a job for the past 5 months. I can't find a thing that pays over 7.00 an hour. Honestly 7.00 an hour is not worth my time and gas; due to raising 4 kids and having a disabled husband. They say there are jobs out there... but they are just not willing to pay... whats even worse... I have an associates degree, really thought that would account for something. Oh well. Good luck hun!!!!

If there is a UPS hub within driving distance of you, you might consider working there.

They usually pay from $12- $14 an hour for part time, and you do have shipping experience.

Their busiest time of the year is fast approaching.

I didn't even think about that! I have shipping and receiving experience from before I started my own business. I was the head of shipping and receiving for a tractor parts company in Henderson for a while. That's a good one to look into. Thanks Lee!!!

The main benefit of UPS is the full benefits. Work is not 8 hours a day (and you probably couldn't sustain that 8 hours a day). It is hard, fast, loud, and dirty. Most people that work that actually work another job.

I'm thinking about a shipping company that deals with UPS and FedEx not actually working for UPS. I have full benefits already through my DH's company so I don't need any type of benefits. I do own my own business so all I want is a 3 days a week, 6 hours a day little job. I might even just apply at Target for seasonal cashier.

Retail probably isn't what you want. Most require nights and week ends. Especially the newbies... you know they always get the crappy hrs. I guess if the store was desperate enough for hard workers they would take on someone that won't work week ends. I worked with a company for 15 yrs and was still required to work week ends. Showed no mercy on the old timers.
Good Luck! You'll find something that suits your needs.

Retails sucks Splort with a silly straw. I know, I've been in retail for 30 years! LOL
You could try Staples, the Office Superstore...they usually have "mothers' hours".
Petco is another good place if you love animals. I've been there 2 years and I make $9.40 an hour. If you have a better manager than I do, you'd be quite content there.
There's UPS stores and stores that do packing and shipping also. If you go seasonal, if they like you, they may keep you on...
good luck.
