Bad roo, poor hen, lightening strikes twice

Do you have any plans for this rooster, or are you keeping him around?

I don't mean to sound rude, but the things that folks will put up with in a rooster sometimes amazes me. At the very least, if you are keeping the rooster, maybe you could get rid of the poor hen instead of keeping her around this rooster so he can continue his harmful efforts.
I plan to keep Toots around. He is over-enthusiastic about mating, indiscriminate to be honest, but he's very good at standing guard over the hens when they're free ranging. He and his daddy roo Strawberry actually saved the entire flock this winter when two at-large dogs attacked. They double-teamed the dogs, led them away, took all night to return, and both suffered severe frostbite as a result. And both roos are completely human non-aggressive, never needing a lick of discipline to make them behave.

Geobett has her very own coop and run with a buddy and gets to have free range when the roosters are penned up. To be honest, Geobett was partially responsible for her injuries because she fought Toots. Hens don't have equal rights as human females do. Wait. We don't have equal rights either. Yet. It's coming.
