Bad wounds from predator need advice

In terms of letting them back out, it's good to make sure the wounds are at least covered. That's why blue Kote is so nice - because it creates a dressing-like equivalent barrier.

It can depend on how deep the wounds are. I don't use bluekote on deep wounds, makes me uncomfortable to have it deep in the tissue. Surface wounds it's great as a cover.

That is a great point by oldhenlikesdogs - I also don't use Blue Kote on super deep wounds. It's good stuff though.

Ok thank you peacock! I'll check the feed store tomorrow! I might go ahead & order the baby aspirin online & get it next day delivery. Thank you so much, all of you!

Ok, sounds good. There is some bone exposed on Cruiser's wing where we amputated, but we put what we supposed was a gunpowder- like clotter on it to keep it covered after the cutting & its made a good barrier on the flesh & 90% of the bone. Just a teeny bit showing, but nothing thats "deep"

You can see the little bit exposed here

Also, is there anything we can do for Bruiser's beak? Anything that promotes growth or do you make a prosthesis & glue it on?

I hope it helps your little guys! The Asprain will definitely help them and if you have any specific questions, feel free to mail me. You can use some vet wrap as a nice covering too. As for Bruiser's beak, if it's really bad, I don't believe it will grow back. (A beak injury can be very painful.) Maybe a prosthetic is the way to go for him. This might sound crazy, but from the birds that were slaughtered...maybe you can salvage a beak from one of them - like a donar beak.

Thank you peacock, we actually got one partial beak from the dead birds, the others were decapitated & no heads around. Hoping we can make something happen.

You all have been so helpful. I appreciate it & might ask more later! Thank you ♡

Update: took Bruiser to the vet for wheezing, she had some of her wet food in her nostrils. Other than that she is doing great. Vet said not to glue beak back because it will hinder her adapting to her new eating habits. I've been grinding up chick starter and mixing it with the applesauce or mashed potatos and she seems happy with that. She is also getting some dry food from Cruiser's food cup.
I went to the feed store to get Blue Kote and they had a different thing but it wasn't that, so they recommend the pic below. I have been spraying both kiddos and they are doing swell.

Thank you for all the help. I will try to update as we continue this new journey. Best to you all and any other advice is still welcome and appreciated!
