Badly Injured Pullet! Neck Injury! PIC ADDED!

UPDATE: Effies doing pretty good outside with her buddies in the cage. No big chickens can get to her, but she's with her sis. She's eating and drinking normally and the wound cleared up. Its not bleeding anymore, but it looks really gruesome. There is a big hole and all of the skin is off with no feathers around it. The skin is plucked featherless around the wound. I hope she heals soon! Ouch! Clover, her sis with the small head wound is perfectly fine and its looking great. Pray for their fast recovery!

glad Effie's doing well. chickens are tough! just keep her warm and feed her some treats

I've been trying. The entire flock it cold-struck. We insulated the coop, but it dropped to 14 degrees recently. She seems tobe doing better. I held her for a while. She huddles with Clover and Lilly. Peeta and Charley do too, but the girls stick together. I'll try to get a pic, but right now its not something you'd really want to see.

Hello there! So, youre probably experiencing this coooold weather, too! Thanks everyone!

9 degrees forecast tonite. brrrrr

UUughghg. I hate when it gets that cold!

if it makes you feel better it will be in the 30s in Florida tomorrow night! don't you have a light in the coop to heat it a little? i think yours are probably acclimated to the cold anyway. but i think Effie will heal fine, just be patient. when they are eating and drinking normally you usually don't have to worry unless someone else starts picking at her.
