Just made a large tote bag last night. Not the prettiest sewing job, but the bag should do its duty. Thanks for the tutorial!

My honey thinks I am crazy now. He thought the grocery tote was sorta normal but he looked at me like I had lost it when I made the purse.

I even carried it to dinner this evening!

I bought a bag of Purina Scratch the last time I went so when I empty it I know I will do something with it. I made the grocery tote out of a 20lb Chick Starter bag and there wasn't enough left at the top to mak handles out of so I used some sturdy wide ribbon that matched the bag. I thought to myself "how cute, i wanna carry that everywhere" and I had seen the link to the recycled rice bags on this thread, so I decided I would make a purse.

I started this project around 5ish and was done with it around 7:30. I used the bottom section of the front of a Producer's Pride Scratch Grains bag. The back of the purse has the barn silhouette on it. I used some yellow cotton material I had laying around to make a liner with a little pocket for the inside. I am not a very good seamstress, but I made it for myself so it will be alright if the stitches are not perfectly straight. What do ya'll think?

Wow, it only took you 2.5 hrs? Takes me waaaay longer to make one. Great job!

They turned out GREAT! Love the graphic work on both. We don't have much other than Purina or Nutrena bags. Those are very cute.

love the purse. A little velcro would pull the top together. Loving this thread.
