Hi everyone,
For those who don’t know I recently lost my last Great Dane (Wilbur) to cancer. We had been shortlisted for a puppy from a very reputable breeder, this litter was supposed to be her last for a few years. On the day we put Wilbur to sleep we were told we’d been selected for a new puppy. I was very excited, not because I wanted to replace Wilbur but because our house felt so empty without a Dane.
Bailey turns 8weeks on Tuesday but we were able to pick him up today (it’s Sunday here in AU).
So I created this thread to share Bailey’s journey with you.

Awww, sweet baby. ❤️
He's going to be spoiled rotten with you. 🤗 Congrats!

Wilbur was an incredible dog. You loved each other, and I bet he would have come to love Bailey, too.

I don't suppose they really understand, but I have been known to tell my dogs about the ones who came before them and pass on the happy memories. You'll have so much to tell Bailey as he grows up -- he has some big pawprints to fill!

My very best wishes to you both!

Ok so Bailey has been allocated a portion of my room to sleep in and I’ve covered the floor with blankets in case he pees on the floor. I have also sectioned off my end of the house to give Jasper (our elderly dog) some time away from Bailey.
Do you have a pic of Jasper?
