Bailey - the Great Dane puppy!

So sorry about Wilbur but excited for y'all about Bailey! He's sooo adorable and i love Danes!

We lost our 12 yo Boxer, Benjamin, in October and about a week after got a Boxer puppy and named him Bailey! (Surprisingly people kinda hated on us for getting another dog so soon and it made me really sad to think that someone would believe I would try to "replace" my beloved dog. Its not a replacement but more of an honor and comfort. Some people won't understand and if anyone tries to hate on you for getting your pup so soon, don't listen)
A house without a dog in it just doesn't feel right.

At one stage, when we were Puppy Raising for the Guide Dogs for the Blind, we only had one elderly dog of our own. As fate would have it we had just returned our Guide dog puppy for training and our elderly dog passed away. We were dogless for about a week and it felt very strange.

Then we took on another Guide Dog puppy.

Yes. Our elderly dog pretty much sleeps all day and yelps if you are too rough giving him a hug so while he is there and in the house it still feels empty if that makes sense.
I think it is amazing that you raised guide dogs, I have a lot of respect for those who have the patience to put the amount of work that goes into them.

So Bailey update:
Today we hung out at home, he slept a lot but when he was awake I taught him the first command, I taught him to sit which he picked up so very quickly that by the end of the day he knew to sit by just me saying sit.
He had one accident inside while he was waiting for me to open the door. He is proving to be quite an intelligent dog. He is so very clumsy though having such large feet hahaha

Yesss that would sooo weird. But same as Butterscotch, I have alot of respect for people who have anything to do with training service dogs. And I feel like seeing eye dogs are the king of all dogs lol. I'm currently training my rottie to be a therapy dog and its sure an eye opener!

Bailey is so cute! Our golden had an accident on the first day to. And she figure out how to unlock the bottom kennel lock. So we have to be careful. How many tricks do you plan to teach Bailey?
Hmm I plan just to teach the basics but once those are done and he’s good at sitting and coming on cue then maybe something else
