Baked Mac and Cheese - A side dish?

I use Paula Deen's Creamiest Mac & Cheese recipe. It's amazing!

I would consider it a side dish but DD cooks it as a meal sometimes.
She also cooks up some rather exotic 'Oriental' dishes with noodles and LOTS of spices (pepper hot).

My mom used to make it and throw Vienna Sausages in there. I thought we were in the money then..."Mom did Dad get a raise?"

It's exponentially harder the more servings you make at once. I usually triple or quadruple the recipe and it feels like you're trying to save that horse...
