No, you're supposed to use a side pan now because of risk of salmonella poisoning. They say it doesn't heat up enough inside the bird to kill the bacteria.

Huh. I never knew! It hasn't been an issue here, but it comes out of the bird quite hot for us.

I honestly prefer the extra stuffing baked on the side anyway. The stuffing in the bird gets too soggy for my liking.

I alternate between in the turkey, and balls. I always run the giblets through the food processor and put them in the stuffing either way. After I cook them with the neck and make a stock.
