My favorite girl wears a saddle due to missing feathers but tonight she has a bleeding wound about the size of a quarter just at the base of her tail. She is the only one with a bloody beak and after I put blukote on it she has a blue beak.
She came to me with a bare backside and I was told this was the result of a roosters attention. I don't have rooster in my flock of 5 so I thought she was getting picked on. I now believe she's doing it to herself.
How can I treat her wound immediately and keep her from picking at it? What can I do for future?
