Bald Eagle is watching our chickens!!!!!

I recall terrielacy pointing out not long ago that Fish and Wildlife personnel DO read this forum! As an administrator of the site, she would know.

Yeah, I agree that she would know. Better be careful what you say on here!

Not sure I would, or anyone for that matter - Want to run along some string through 3 acres of pasture to keep the Eagles out. . . I already had to put up the poles and fence and seed the place all by my self without any machine, sooo. . . That would just be a waste of time.

I don't have a 3 acre pen. More like 30' by 30' tucked under some trees. Still not 100% sure it was a hawk. I found three dead birds with their backs and necks eaten. I also know I have foxes. I seen their foot prints.

. . . . Sooo our local warden and neighbors are a little misinformed. Good thing I've never actually done anything. Today I saw the same group soaring around, and didn't do anything about it. Good thing I had doubts even before I read that. . . .

I just hope that they don't truly become a problem. I don't want to have to resort to cooping my birds up in small enclosures for the safety from a protected Eagle. I like eagles, but I also love my chickens. . .

Gotta be careful who you trust. It's best to see it in writing.

You need either a witness or have a dead Eagle in your hands to get busted. ANYONE can log into this site with your password and say anything, and it is no proof who is doing the writing. UNLESS your dumb enough to have an audience as you blast the bird with a paintball, I don't think the Eagle would call anyone IF he was hit by a paintball. I would trust the Eagle. lolololol
