Bald eagle!

Had a bald eagle in the yard today! Chickens were out he was chasing a large crow, too busy I guess to go after the chickens. We moved to DE lots of wildlife here. Chickens are in a secure coop but are let out when we are around.

I lost a roosters early spring to a bald eagle. Swooped down and plucked him from the ground. The eagle was not chasing the crow. The crow was chasing the eagle. Crows hate any bird of prey and will chase and pester it. I have a group of 6 crows that hang out around my farm. I take scrapes to their favorite tree, and put any animals I kill like raccoons or opossums by their tree as a thank you. Those crows chase every hawk and eagle that flys over the farm and do a great job protecting my chickens. Make friends with brother crow. They will help keep your chickens safe. The day the eagle took my rooster the crows where not here. Sorry for your loss.
