Bald eagle

I was outside with the girls as I am every afternoon and my husband spots something circling overhead, pretty far up. I shrug, grab the rake and get closer to the girls thinking another hawk who dont usually come any closer when I yell and wave the rake around. My husband says "I see white"..well lo and behold it's a bald eagle. Part of me was petrified for the girls who ran in two different directions ( thank God hubby was outside with me) and the other part in absolute awe of just how huge and majestic these birds are. Massive!! It was my first time seeing one in its natural setting ..so beautiful!!!!

They are very pretty. When we go fishing in Alaska, I put some fish on the deck. The bald eagle sit and eat right in front of us. Like 8-10 feet away!

To paraphrase Rob Scheider's character in the movie, "Jaws," ... "I think you're gonna need a bigger coop!" Or at least a bigger, covered run. But what a neat reason for a rebuild project!

three hens have two covered runs. I enjoy watching them free range, they are happiest when doing so when we are home

Doubtful that a bald eagle would go after chickens but you never know I guess. Have lots of them around us, amazing how hugemongous they are if you ever get a chance to be up close.
They mostly eat dead stuff, like buzzards.
