I've been noticing this for a little while but it's gotten worse, one of my black australorp hens head is losing its feathers behind the comb. Other than this, she's normal and still acting just fine. I'm thinking it's either part of molting or one of my roosters is pulling the feathers out..that or lice or mites.. Any ideas? This was the best pic i got, she wouldn't quit walking around.

I would check her for mites/lice.. also, check her legs... she may have scaly leg mites which can also affect the head of chickens, it is probably due to her being mounted by a Rooster, but it is advisable to check her for lice/mites too.

Normally a young chicken ( of her age ) would not be moulting...however, it is possible she is moulting Check in the coop for feather losses, normally you will see discarded feathers on the coop floor. A good indicator of moulting is to see "pin feathers" in the areas missing full feathers.

Lol, something like that. A couple of the hens will just sit there and take it and others try their best to get away.
