Bald spots. Is this molting?

A have a few chickens that are missing feathers on their backs and vent area--is this molting or are they sick? I give them 17% protein feed, meal worms, acv in their water and plenty of greens. I also am on top of their coop, regularly cleaning and sprinkling DE. What am I doing wrong? Help!

No, it is not molting. Chickens first adult molt happens at 16-18 months old.

Bare butts is likely feather picking.

They could be being over-mated with 2 males in attendance.
Some birds just have weak/brittle feathers that are more likely to break when tread upon.
Bareness bothers keepers more than the birds, unless wounds to the exposed skin starts to happen.

Agrees the bare butts is probably feather picking.
