I have 4 (out of 14) hens that are a year old that have bald spots on their backs. I thought it might've been the roos but they were seperated out for a while and the hens didn't get any better. I've also checked them for mites and lice and haven't seen anything. What else could it be? I've not seen a profusion of feathers anywhere (molting) if they were then they've been eating them all up.

many of mine are molting now they get pretty bald looking and I dont see a lot of feathers either .. but I do see a few funny looking chickens .. If you dont see mites and they have lots of fresh water and good food and are acting fine I would guess molting .

Well...............some of them are also coughing/sneezing. I had dumped a 50lb bag of DE in their coop - i'm wondering if they are having a reaction to it. I just removed the majority of it this week and we'll see if that makes a difference in their respiratory system. UGHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhh when will this rollercoaster end.

THANKS for the replies!!
