Hey guys, went to feed the birds today and saw 2 of my Narragansett toms had lost their feathers on their breasts. They are about 9 months old and the other tom and 3 hens are fine. Would they be molting this time of year?
Thanks
Brian

they sleep on a wood ladder or on the ground. They go in the coop sometimes. I have spots outside and inside for them.

If they sleep on the ground alot of times they will rub the feathers off their breast area, If they are molting you will see alot of feathers on the ground and they would be loosing them all over.

yeah its probably how they sleep. Mine sleeps on the wood floor but isnt missing any so maybe its possible its starting to molt but maybe not
